In-Office CT Scan (3D Cone Beam)
More and more orthodontists, oral surgeons and other dental specialists are using a new dental imaging technology called 3D cone beam scans – and for good reason. 3D cone beam scans produce high-quality 3D images of teeth, teeth roots and jaws. These 3D images allow dental professionals to identify potential problems that oftentimes go unnoticed with traditional dental images. Dr. Tucker utilizes #D imaging CBCT scan state of the art technology to help diagnose your condition. The Carestream CS 9000 cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) allows unmatched visualization of anatomical structures and aids in treatment planning your case and minimizing your exposure to radiation. The field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs can be adjusted. In addition, third party software (Anatomage Invivo 5.3) can be used to better visualize and and manipulate the DICOM files. Virtual dental implant surgery can be performed on your own CBCT scan allowing fabrication of an implant surgical guide. This CAD/CAM dental technology helps improve patient surgical outcomes. A replica of the patient’s teeth and jaws based on the CBCT scan can also be fabricated on Dr. Tucker’s in house 3D printer.
